(Source: News 10 Now Syracuse )

Hundreds of runners dressed up for the holidays in Liverpool Sunday. They ran around Onondaga Lake Park for the 18th annual Jingle Bell Fun Run. Runners took part in 5-K and 10-K courses to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation.

Organizers said the costumes add to the fun of the event.

"There was a whole group last year that dressed as all the reindeer and had their names on the back of their shirts and everything. I was kind of jealous of the person that got to be Vixen to be honest with you. But, we've had Santa Claus', we've had elves, we've had the reindeer, we've had all kinds of crazy Mickey Mouse hats, and we've had a lot of great costumes here," organizer Deena Samhammer said.

Researchers say one in three people have a form of arthritis in the United States . Money raised from the run will help therapy programs at the Arthritis Foundation.
