An arthritis camp will be organised at Satguru Pratap Singh Hospitals here tomorrow in which free consultation will be provided by Prof Paul Dieppe, a renowned rheumatologist from UK , and Dr Parshant Aggarwal of SPS Apollo Hospitals.
The main focus of this camp is to generate awareness about arthritic illnesses. Dr Aggarwal stated that there were more than 100 causes for arthritis and these disorders were one of leading causes of disability in the community. There are estimated to be more than two lakh cases of rheumatoid arthritis in Punjab alone, which is one of the more common forms of arthritis.
A comprehensive state-of-the-art care is now available for these disorders. These simple and inexpensive medical therapies can help patients, suffering from these disorders, lead a near normal life, Dr Aggarwal said. However prompt diagnosis and management is crucial, he added.
